You can upgrade to a genuine Austri-Alpin COBRA quick release buckle with or without integrated D-ring (2+ ton breaking strength rating but can be released instantly with one hand)… otherwise, we only build them one way and in limited sizes to ensure fit, form, and function at the best possible price. We have experimented with different designs trying to integrate nylon and hook / loop connectors because this sounds like a great option, but we couldn’t get it to work long term. Over time, the nylon fades and looks terrible. The hook and loop frays apart and doesn’t maintain its integrity if adjusted repeatedly, which defeats the purpose of the adjustability benefit. Therefore, we stuck with the tried-and-true robust veg-tan leather for our offering.
